Visit to Butterfly Creek

This year Ashton and I decided that we wanted to explore the world... we wanted to make sure we saw new things and discovered everything that was out there for us to discover! So we made a list of things we wanted to do and as we find out about new things we add them to our list and we tick them off as we go! One of the places on our list was Butterfly Creek... against every ounce of fear in my body. I thought it would be a good experience for Ashton so we rounded up the Smoothie Group (ante-natal group) and set off to discover the wonders of Butterfly Creek. It ended up being lots of fun and Ashton zonked out on our way home after such a big adventure!

Check out how massive that butterfly is!
Look at me being all brave by holding a butterfly so I can give Ashton the chance to see one up close! Talk about SACRIFICE! My heart was racing!!!
Checking out the lizards.
I think Ashton was more interested in the sign, than the MASSIVE WETA that was in front of him!
Oh, look mummy... the rabbit has ears! Poor thing!
Hello Goat!
Oh, and "hello doggy... woof woof"
Time to get some work done on the tractor!

A Dance Session a Day... lets the heart play!

Routines can be boring, but they can also be great... great fun! Not only does it help your child feel safe and secure they can make your day really enjoyable if you take the day to day tasks and add a bit of FUNK!
Each morning Ashton and I have a dance session. We have the same song at the beginning of our Groove Time playlist and as soon as Ashton hears it, he runs to his room and grabs something to dance with that day! I always love to wait and see what he will run out of his room with. Its something different everyday! Here is just a few of the wonderful dance companions Ashton has had!... Scarves...
Tata Bear...
His wooden train...
Balloons...
We have also had, shakers, drums, rhythm sticks, little ball pit balls, cars... you name it... we can dance with it!
Ashton always brings out something for me to dance with too. Although he always thinks mine works better than his and will try and swap with me. ;o)

Dancing Dishes

So, I have just been back through my photos from this year and I have soooo much that I want to Blog about... I'm having a real dilema as to whether I should backlog or whether to just start from here??? Thoughts (from the one person that reads my blog) baahahah!

Anyways, I thought I would share with you my Dancing Dishes fun! I HATE doing the dishes and I kept saying to myself, "If only I could come up with a way to make it fun!" Well, I think I have.

Ashton hates it when I'm in the kitchen doing anything, unless I'm giving him food! So, one day when the dishes were seriously out of control and I just needed to get them done, I asked Ashton if he would like to help me... I turned on some music for background noise and wahla! Dancing Dishes was born! We had soooooo much fun, dancing at the sink, singing along and making a royal mess!

Now, we love doing this so much that we have decided to make this a regular activity in our household and I have told Ashton that if we are really good at keeping the dishes done, each month we will buy a new song from iTunes to go in our Dancing Dishes playlist.

I'm hoping this will be something we continue to enjoy doing together and can slowly help us build our music collection! Whop Whop!
