You know you're a "Yummy Mummy" when...

You know you're a "Yummy Mummy" when you stop in the middle of your very intense power walk to have a play on the local playground with your children... AND... then proceed to sacrifice a dry bottom by going down the slide to dry it off so your children's clothes can stay dry and they won't be uncomfortable... despite the fact that they have nappies on and wouldn't feel it, and you're the one who is going to continue on walking out in public! Bahahahah! Oh well, we had lots of fun and I can feel my mummy muscles building up confidence to come out and show their lovely toned selves to the world more and more each walk I take! ha ha.
Us before we conquer the most mammouth hill ever! Who's grand idea was that Jess?

I Love how not one of them children is looking at the camera! hahaha

Mexican Night! mmmm

I still can't stop thinking about how yummy every mouthful of food was that I ate for our Mexican night! It was absolutely marvelous! Both Jess and Mel made dishes that I had never had before and made me fall in love with eating Mexican even more! The whole evening was lots of fun and we have decided that it was so much fun we are going to do another international cuisine night next month... mmm... maybe Italian... or Indian! So many choices! and I CAN'T WAIT!
Jess and Mel trying to figure out how you cut into a Quesadilla stack!
There was soooooooo much food... but the boys managed to clean up a lot of it... sitting at the little kids table! ha ha

Who Knows!

This is the sight I came into the other day after I heard Ashton creating a bit of a ruccus in his room the other day! He obviously got bored while he was waiting for me to come in and rescue his "nummy" (more commonly known as a dummy) for him. Nice look huh!

Cooking with Toddlers!

Ellie came over and had a sleep over with Ashton the other day and when trying to decide what fun activities to do with them my genius sister suggested I do baking with them!!! I had contemplated it, so when Dionne made the suggestion as well, I decided to give it a go!

HA HA HA HA HA! They did love the mixing and stirring and feeding each other the mix and covering each other with the mix and playing music with their wooden spoons as they tapped their sticks together!

I think I might just pretent like I wasn't ment to be baking and just say it was a science experiment on mixing!

Visit to MOTAT

We got to spend a day at MOTAT recently with our friends Jane and Darcy and we all had a great time! The boys loved running after each other looking for the next thing to explore. There was just so many different exhibitions for the boys to look at and even play with that they never got bored. They loved imitating the sounds of all of the different modes of transport they saw and got to try out lots of different experiments that the mums thought were pretty cool too. It was a pretty busy day for everyone... both boys were zonked out on the way home!

The boys just readin up about the old cars.

The boys with their tickets ready to go on their tram ride.

All Aboard... the say hi to the Conductor!

Time for a bit of a play on the playground.

The boys checking out the vintage fire engine.

Running through the mirror maze.

Exploring electrical current.

Coolest thing... you hit the different sized tubes with jandals and they make a different sound on each tube.

The boys go exploring in the big train!

Practicing their morse code.

Just talking to Australia and Hong Kong and stuff.

Time to take it all in

There are often moments where all of a sudden I realise my little man has gone quiet and as any mother does, you have to wonder what these little explorers are getting up to. But for me more often than not I will find Ashton up on his favourite little perch (on top of his toy box, at the window in his room) ... watching the view... taking the time to take it all in.

I often wonder to myself what he is thinking and why it is so appealing to him, but he will stand there for quiet some time, with his best mate Tata Bear just watching out the window... I think we should take more time to consider the beauty that is around us! Thanks for the reminder Ashton-Paul!

A Block tower sensation!

Bahahaha!!! So the last time I updated my blog was in JULY 2010! So... I'm a bad blogger! A girls got to be bad at something! JK. Mel has reprimanded me and told me I need to do and update... so here I am... but where to start?

Oooh! I will start with Ashton's fantastic block tower that he made today!
I love blocks and I want Ashton to love them too... so we always get them out and have a play, but all he wants to do is "Boof" the towers over! I don't mind this every now and then, but i want to feel a bit of success for him and myself of building a grand block structure!!! (ok, dream over).
Well today was the first time we got close and it was fabulous! Ashton nearly used up all of the blocks in the basket he was so focused! And he knew exactly what block he wanted to get for each part too... at one point he only wanted single piece blocks, so he would hunt through all of the blocks until he would find one!
Its been great seeing his concentration and understanding of things develop and I'm loving being able to teach him things and see him really try and give it a go. Perseverance really does pay off!!!
Ta da! The finished product!
